Coronavirus Statement
13 Mar 2020 by Jenifer
Dear EXA Family,
EXA Sports prioritizes the health and safety of our members (athletes and families) and employees and we are closely monitoring the events surrounding the coronavirus/COVID-19. We are following the lead of our city, states, and federal government as we implement strategies recommended by public health authorities in our gym as we continue to practice as scheduled. In addition to the regular cleaning and disinfecting of our gym we have stepped up those efforts with additional support.
We are disinfecting all surfaces that can be touched in and around the gym as part of our enhanced cleaning procedures. We have also purchased a fogger with a disinfectant agent that will clean all surfaces, both hard and soft including areas we cannot see or touch.
We are ensuring our employees have the information they need to stay healthy or stay at home if they aren’t feeling well.
Hand sanitizer is located at the front desk and inside the gym for our athletes, family, and staff. If you have your own, please bring that as well.
We will be implementing mandatory hand sanitizing/washing for all teams and classes at the start and end of each practice and class.
Effective beginning today 3.13, we are closing the parent room and waiting areas to help decrease the number of people in the gym and the spread of germs. We are asking parents with athletes over the age of 5 to drop off their child at the front door no more than 5 minutes before class time and to pick them up outside of the gym in Menomonie and outside the gym door, in the hallway in Eau Claire.
Additionally we are asking parents to pick siblings up after their class or to keep them with you before classes and not to hang out in the gym while waiting for their class to start. We know this may not be ideal but we are trying to create a clean and safe environment for everyone. If you have concerns about this please contact the gym directly.
We encourage anyone who is experiencing cold and flu symptoms, or not feeling well to stay at home and to contact the gym directly and as soon as possible.
We strive to provide you with a safe and comfortable environment and will continue to monitor the situation, seek guidance and best practices from the appropriate health authorities and share additional information as warriented. We are doing all we can to keep the kids safe without completely shutting everything down. Please know that we are working diligently to keep our heads on straight and know what is best for the kids.
This is uncharted territory for us as well, we have a system in place for everything but sadly a Pandemic is not one so please be patient as we do our best to move through this. We know that EXA is a safe place for so many of our families and we want to keep it that way!
As all things, this too will come and go so we need to take it one day at a time.
Thank you for your continued support for EXA Sports,
Amy and Jen
